Preterit vs. Imperfect
We started off the semester by learning how to use the preterit and imperfect tenses. These are two of the past tenses in Spanish. You use the preterit tense when you are talking about something that has a specific time that it happened. You use the imperfect tense when you are talking about something that used to happen. Below are conjugation charts for both (first) the preterit tense as well as (second) the imperfect tense.
